The National Roofing Directory is the working reference for the roofing trade and for the people who hire it — 101,532 contractor listings across all 50 states, the District of Columbia and the US territories, covering 7,047 cities.

And it is far more than a directory. The same site carries a 118-document technical library, live National Weather Service storm alerts, free calculators, a video library, state-by-state licensing rules, cost references, a public trade board, and a second directory of the 110 suppliers, manufacturers and B2B service companies roofers actually buy from. Finding all of that in one place, open to everybody, is the thing this site does that nothing else does.

Is the National Roofing Directory free to use?

Completely. Search every contractor, browse the B2B directory, read the library, run the calculators, watch the storm map, use the videos, post on the board — free, unlimited, forever.

No paywall. No search cap. No trial that expires. No credit card. Membership is something a roofing business buys to control how its own listing looks; nobody who comes here to find something ever needs one.

Do I need an account to search for a roofing contractor?

No — and you never will. No account, no email address, no sign-in wall, no "create a free profile to see results". Search as much as you want.

Exactly four areas of this site need an account, and every one of them belongs to a business managing its own listing: the member dashboard, sign-in, registration and the account API. Nothing you came here to read or use is behind any of them.

How is this different from other roofing directories?

Three ways, and they are the whole point. Nothing useful is gated — no account, no search limit, no form standing between you and the answer. Verification is done by a human being reading actual documents, not handed out the second a card clears. And we serve both sides of the trade at once: the homeowner hunting a roofer and the roofer hunting a supplier, a code reference or a hail map are on the same site.

Most roofing directories are a lead-capture form wearing a directory costume. You search, you hit a wall, you hand over your phone number, and your details get sold to four companies who call you for a week. That is not what this is.

How do I find a roofing contractor near me?

Search by city or state from any page, or browse state by state and then city by city across all 7,047 of them. Every listing shows the company, the area it covers and the work it does.

You will not be asked for your phone number, your email or anything else before you can see who is in your area. Results first. Always.

What does "Verified" mean on a contractor profile?

It means a real person on our team sat down, went through that business and recorded exactly what they checked: the phone number, the email address, the website, the logo, the services listed, the public rating, the insurance and the licence. Eight checks, one at a time, by hand.

And here is the part that matters: the badge is never granted by payment. Paying puts a business in the queue — a person decides whether it earns the badge, and plenty will not. That is the entire reason it is worth anything. A badge you can buy is a sticker.

Why do some listings not show a phone number or website?

Because that business has not confirmed its listing with us yet. Most listings here were built from public business records rather than created by the company, and some of those records are years old.

We would rather show you less than show you a dead number. An unconfirmed listing shows the company, its services and its address — nothing we have not stood behind. Once a business confirms and is verified, its phone, email and website go live.

Does the National Roofing Directory recommend or endorse contractors?

We check, we do not vouch. Verification means a person confirmed specific details on a specific date and wrote down what they found — it is not a warranty, a licence or an insurance guarantee, and being listed is not a recommendation.

Before work starts, confirm any contractor's licence and insurance with your state board and their insurer. Our licensing pages link you straight to the authority for your state. Any directory that tells you it has done that thinking for you is doing you a disservice.

What happens when I send an enquiry through the site?

It goes to one verified contractor. If the listing you are on is verified, it goes to them. If it is not, it goes to a verified contractor near you — because handing your details to a business whose phone number nobody has confirmed does you no good at all.

One enquiry, one company. We do not sell your details to four contractors and leave you fielding calls for a fortnight. You know the sites that do.

Why is my roofing company already listed?

The directory was built from public business registration and licensing records, so most listings exist before the business has heard of us. You did not create it and you are not being billed for it.

You can claim it, correct it, or ask us to remove it.

How do I claim my roofing business listing?

Find your listing and use the claim link on it, or start from the claim page and search for your company. You confirm the details we hold, we email a code to the address on the claim, and you enter it.

A person then reviews the claim before the listing is attached to your account. We do not move a listing on an email address alone.

What do I get for verifying my business?

Visibility, and the enquiries that come with it. Your phone, email and website go live on your profile, your website becomes a real followable link, and enquiries from your page come to you — instead of being handed to the verified competitor down the road, which is exactly what happens today while your listing sits unconfirmed.

You also get the badge, which means a person checked you and said so. In a trade where anybody can print anything on a truck door, that is not nothing.

Will a listing here help my own website rank?

A verified listing gives you a real, followable link from a national roofing site, plus a profile page built to be indexed — genuine content about your business, your services and the area you cover, not a thin stub with your name on it.

Compare that to what you have right now if you are unconfirmed: your website is not published as a link at all, so it passes you nothing whatsoever.

Every ten minutes, straight from the United States National Weather Service. Tornado, tropical, hail and winter alerts, live, for the whole country — not a weekly summary and not last season's map.

And when there is genuinely nothing active anywhere in the country, the page tells you so. An honest all-clear beats an empty map that looks broken.

How often is the rest of the site updated?

Constantly — this is not a site that gets a refresh once a quarter. The homepage rebuilds every five minutes, trade news every fifteen, the board every thirty, storm alerts every ten.

Listings are corrected as businesses claim them and as our team verifies them, which happens every day.

Can I post on the board without signing in?

Yes. Pick a display name, write your comment, post. No account, no email address, no waiting for approval. It is a trade board, not a walled garden.

What free tools are on the site?

Where do the listings come from?

Public business registration and licensing records, plus public business profiles. Every listing built that way says so on the page — labelled a public-record listing — so you can always tell it from one the business has confirmed itself. We do not blur that line.

My listing has the wrong information. How do I fix it?

Claim it and fix it. The form shows you exactly what we hold so you can correct whatever is wrong, and what you submit is what a person reviews. It takes a few minutes.

How do I remove my business from the directory?

Contact us and ask. We will take it down. No retention offer, no hoops.
