Roofing Videos

50 videos, picked by hand and grouped by the part of the job they cover — tear-off and decking, underlayment, flashing and valleys, ventilation, standing seam, slate, tile, low-slope membrane, FORTIFIED construction, fall protection and storm damage. They come from manufacturers’ own technical channels, trade and standards bodies, a state safety regulator, a state insurance regulator, and instructional channels that have been at it long enough to be worth watching.

This site did not produce any of these videos. Each one belongs to the channel credited beneath it, and every card links straight to the original on YouTube. Listing a video here is not an endorsement of the channel, and it does not imply the channel endorses, sponsors or is affiliated with this site. We have not embedded the player, and we do not host a copy of anything — the thumbnails are served by YouTube.

    Shingle installation

Nailing, starter course, laminate application and the manufacturer instructions warranties hang on.

    Tear-off & decking

Stripping the old roof, reading the deck underneath and sheathing it back properly.

    Underlayment & ice barrier

Felt against synthetic, self-adhering membrane at eaves and valleys, and where each belongs.

    Flashing & valleys

Step flashing, drip edge, chimneys, dormers and valleys — where most roofs actually leak.

    Ventilation

    Metal & standing seam

Panel layout, seams, valleys and penetrations on standing seam and exposed-fastener roofs.

    Slate

Repairing and installing natural slate — hooks, headlap, nailing and the mistakes that shorten a century roof.

    Tile

Concrete and clay tile: terminology, first-course details and how tile compares with asphalt.

    Low-slope, TPO & EPDM

Single-ply and self-adhered systems: welding, seams, drains and edge terminations.

    FORTIFIED & resilience

The IBHS sealed roof deck, taped seams and what the standard is actually testing for.

    Safety & fall protection

Anchors, harnesses, ladders and hazard spotting, largely from a state safety regulator.

    Storm damage & inspection

Identifying hail and wind damage, impact ratings, and how a roof claim gets handled.
