Roofers Coffee: contractor-grade coffee, rated by roof pitch
Brewed for the crew. Roofers Coffee rates each roast on a 12-pitch scale the way a roofer reads a roof: Skylight and Low Slope are the easy 4/12 light roasts, Storm Chaser sits at 8/12 in the middle, The Tear-Off runs 10/12 and Ridge Cap, the darkest, is 11/12. Seven 12 oz boxes, whole bean or ground, plus three of the roasts as single-serve pods and an instant tube for the truck. Small batch, roasted when you order.
How the pitch rating works
Roof pitch is rise over a 12-inch run: a 4/12 roof is a gentle walk, an 11/12 roof is close to a wall. Roofers Coffee borrows the scale for roast strength. Light roasts keep the fruit and acidity of the bean and sit low on the scale; dark roasts trade that for cocoa, caramelized sugar and body, and sit at the top. Not sure where to start? The brand’s own suggestion is Storm Chaser, the 8/12 medium roast in the middle of the ladder.
