    The industry

    For contractors

    Roofing Software Buyer’s Guides

Guides for the people doing the work rather than for homeowners. Each one takes a category a roofing company actually buys, puts every product a contractor could plausibly choose in one table, and prints what each vendor publishes — including the vendors that publish nothing, which is itself worth knowing before you book a demo.

Every price carries the day we read it off the vendor’s own page. Every entry says what the product does badly. Nothing on any of these pages was written, reviewed or approved by a vendor.

    How these are written

    Four rules, all four checkable

    Sourced, and dated
Every fact comes from the vendor’s own published pages or from our directory records, linked so you can check it. Every price carries the day it was read, because software pricing moves and an undated price on a page that ranks for two years is a lie with a delay on it.
What it does badly, in its own panel
Each product gets a panel saying what it does badly, at the same weight as what it is and what it costs. It is the only paragraph a vendor could not have written, and it is never softened into a note about considerations.
    Paid placement never reorders anything
We sell listings and sponsorship, and mark paid links wherever they appear. Paid inventory is an added, labelled block — it cannot change who is on a list, the order they appear in, or a word of what is said about them. Several products in these guides have nothing to sell us at all and are ranked exactly as they would be if they did.
No trials we did not run
NRD has not run these products in a roofing company and does not pretend to have. The authority here is that the work is organised, dated and sourced — plus a survey of the contractors in our own directory, which publishes on these pages only when the sample is large enough to mean something.

The full version of all four is at the bottom of every guide. How we make money.

Every vendor in these guides has a profile in the directory

The industry directory holds first-party profiles of the technology companies serving roofing contractors, each built from the company’s own published pages and dated. It is the right next click if you want the company behind the product rather than the product.
